After growing up in Iowa, the birthplace of Chiropractic, Dr. McGreal graduated from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa. Compassionate and devoted to volunteer work, she worked as an Adult Ed. teacher for The David School in Eastern Kentucky for a year before starting her chiropractic education at Palmer College of Chiropractic. She was inspired by her hardworking and devoted Chiropractic father and brother, Drs. William and Larry Heffron. As a teen, she worked at Heffron Chiropractic and was impressed with the endless benefits that Chiropractic treatments did for patients. Patients were always happy as issues with sports injuries, headaches, asthma, colic, back and neck pain….. were resolved.
At Palmer College of Chiropractic, Dr. McGreal was involved in Motion Palpation and Gonstead clubs and assisted in the research. This is where the bug of lifelong learning was caught and since earning her Chiropractic degree, she has become certified in Pediatric Chiropractic, Acupuncture, Active Release Technique and Rock Tape application. She has taught college level Anatomy and Physiology and lectured to health classes. As a part of their medical training, University of Michigan Medical students have followed Dr. McGreal in her workplace.
Along with this Chiropractic journey has been her husband Joe and 5 children, the first of which was born while going to Palmer Chiropractic. Patrick served as a Marine for 6 years which is one of the many reasons why Dr. McGreal is honored and grateful to have the opportunity to help the Veterans Administration of Ann Arbor as a referred Chiropractor for Veterans. She has a Michigan State grad and another son at Michigan State with her last two children attending Saline High School in Saline, Michigan.
At Active Chiropractic, Dr. McGreal’s mission is to focus on chiropractic care for families and individuals from all walks of life – from babies and children to teens and adults and the elderly; from pregnant women to athletes and to business professionals on the go. The goal is to provide all of her patients with complete support services they need to live their lives fully.
